Crop Report: Hey, October!

October 4, 2018

October is here! Cue pumpkin everything! Our farm market is loaded with all things pumpkin. Head out to our pumpkin patch this week to pick the perfect Jack O'lantern! Planted next to our pumpkin patch is a blooming field of sunflowers. Capture some great fall photos while the sunflowers are in full bloom!

Our farm market has a great selection of fall decor staples, pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, corn stalks, mums..come check it out!

This wacky Ohio weather has us flashing back to summer. Our garden is still producing lots of yummy summer squash and zucchini. Grilling up some fresh summer veggies while we still can!

U-pick apples has been a huge hit! Our orchard is open for pick your own on Saturday & Sunday. This weekend u-pick varieties will be, Melrose and Suncrisp.

New varieties to look for in our farm market this weekend:

Mutsu: A descendant of Yellow (Golden) Delicious. Mutsus are yellow-green with a juicy flesh that is mildly sweet. Excellent all-purpose apple.

Suncrisp: Crisp, slightly tart, oddly enough, Suncrisp has hint of banana flavor. Excellent all-purpose apple.

Empire: A cross between Red Delicious and McIntosh. Empire is crisp, juicy, and sweet with a little spice. Empire is known as an excellent eating apple. It is also a great addition to salads!

Apples to look for soon:

Late Fuji, Goldrush, Winesap

We will be open Monday, October 8th...normal hours, 9am-7pm. Stop by and see us this weekend! Saturday 9am-7pm Sunday 11am-5pm
