Crop Report: Fresh Picked Summer Favorites

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking in this week! Have you been loving this weather as much as us?? After last week's heat wave these days have been perfect! There are lots of new things to look for this weekend as well as our usual summer produce staples. Full list of produce to follow.

We've been taking advantage of these beautiful days and working in the orchard as much as possible. Start looking for our apples around the beginning of September, fresh pressed apple cider to follow!

Speaking of cider, we still have frozen half gallons and gallons available in our farm market. It's a fantastic batch that was made primarily with our Goldrush apples. Our first press of 2019 will be mid September. Stay posted!

Don't worry, we still have weeks of peaches left! Varieties available now are, Red Haven and Contender. Red Haven is a customer favorite! We will have peaches until at least Labor Day weekend.

We have some beautiful heirloom tomatoes this week! Look for Cherokee purple, Brandywine and a mix of heirloom grape tomatoes. They all have a rich & wonderful flavor! Heirloom tomatoes are our favorite addition to just about any summer recipe.

Our hands down go to pasta dish is Halfbaked Harvest's Heirloom Tomato Basil Bolognese. It's amazing and super simple! We make it year round but it's always best with fresh heirloom tomatoes. A great snack to highlight the killer flavor of these tomatoes is Heirloom Tomato, Basil, and Manchego Toast. Recipes to follow.

Blackberries are back! We also have some delicious Michigan blueberries and sweet cherries. Our farm market is full of so many fantastic summer favorites. We love this time of year!
