Crop Report: Pie Apples
November 18, 2021
Thanks for checking in! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a week away! We're looking forward to some time with family and of course, the food. Full list of apple varieties available in our Farm Market to follow.
If you haven't started to tackle your thanksgiving grocery list, now is the time! We still have lots of apples to choose from for your Thanksgiving apple pies. We always recommend a blend of two to three varieties to achieve the best flavor. Here are a few of our current favorites for apple pie: Goldrush, Stayman, Granny Smith.
We still have frozen blueberries, blackberries and tart Michigan cherries available by the quart. They're great for holiday pies and desserts. We love to add blueberries and blackberries to our winter smoothies.
Thanksgiving morning is always a little hectic, but there's nothing like a couple cups of coffee and a sweet treat to get you through it. Prep these Apple Cinnamon Rolls the night before so they're ready to pop in the oven first thing in the morning. It's the perfect way to use extra pie apples. Recipe below.
This recipe for apple pie is one of our favorites. We think this pie is best with Goldrush. The flavor it adds is unmatched.
