Crop Report: First Taste of Fall
Hey everyone, thanks for checking in! Several things to share this week. Look for everything this weekend from Summer to early Fall favorites. Full list of produce available (as supplies last) in our farm market to follow.
We are very excited to welcome back our most favorite thing, APPLES! Yes, apples! We can hardly believe its that time again. They look and taste amazing! There's nothing like crunching into a crisp apple! To start out we will have limited quantities of these early varieties. List of varieties to look for to follow.
More and more blackberries have been ready to harvest. We hope you all have been loving them as much as we have! There's nothing like fresh picked berries!
A couple recipe ideas for those of you who aren't quite ready for Fall flavors and a couple for those who have been waiting for apples again since the end of last season. Links to follow.
It's hard to pick a favorite when it comes to Summer produce. This Summer we have been eating plenty of heirloom tomatoes and sweet corn. Several friends who live or have spent and extended time out of state always say, there's nothing like Ohio sweet corn and tomatoes. We have to agree! Herbed Butter Heirloom Tomato Pizza and Grilled Street Corn by Halfbaked Harvest highlight these Ohio grown favorites.

For those of you in between seasons, here are some other recipes that have Summer feel with a whole lot of Autumn taste! Both recipes call for Honeycrisp but feel free to use Ginger Gold or Zestar as well, perhaps a combination? We always love a good apple blend! We've welcomed apples back into our menu with these Halfbaked Harvest favorites, Honey, Apple, Cheddar, and Bacon Panini and Apple Butter and Sage Pork Chops.
