Crop Report: Welcome Autumn!
Thanks for checking in this week! These brisk mornings and chilly evenings have made it a perfect first official week of fall! Several apple varieties were harvested this week. Full list of apple varieties and produce to find in our farm market to follow.
Our pumpkin patch opens this weekend for U-Pick! The patch will be open 7 days a week. The sunflowers on our farm are in full bloom! It's the perfect backdrop for your pumpkin picking pictures. Sunflowers should be in bloom for two weeks, this weekend and the following.
This week we have been picking lots of apples! New varieties to the farm market this weekend are Empire and Jonagold. Our team will be working the next couple days to harvest Mutsu and Suncrisp. Look for these varieties in our farm market later this weekend/early next week.
Our fall hours begin this Saturday. We will be open until 7pm Monday through Saturday.
We've been loving all of the fresh picked winter squash, there are just so many ways to use it! On our menu this week was Creamy Butternut Squash Spaghetti, yum! Simple and delicious. Because we firmly believe that fall sweets are a must, we're recommending Cream Cheese Swirled Pumpkin bread as a sweet treat this weekend. Recipes to follow. We also have amish made pumpkin and apple bread available in our farm market, so good!
