Crop Report: First of the Season Ohio Sweet Corn

Thanks for checking in this week! First of the season Ohio grown sweet corn hit our Farm Market this morning. We're looking forward to fresh sweet corn on the grill this Fourth of July. Lots of delicious, locally grown produce available as we head into the holiday weekend. Full list of produce available in our Farm Market to follow.

We are finally cooling off after an exceptionally hot beginning of the week. Hope you all were able to stay cool! Watermelon and peaches have been very popular on these hot days. The Georgia peaches are excellent this year. They are freestone which makes them great for canning or freezing. If you are interested in a larger quantity, we sell peaches by the 25 pound box in addition to the 10 pound peck and by the pound. Ask for details next time you're in!

We are in awe of the beautiful locally grown onions that arrived this morning. These onions are a great addition to summer meals. A jar of pickled red onions is a staple in our refrigerator during the summer. They are great to have on hand! We love to add them to our Caprese salads, burgers, and tacos. Recipe for pickled red onions to follow.

Very excited to share our recent collaboration with Salty Lark Pies. We will be offering locally made pies (as they last) Saturdays and Sundays through the season. This week look for peach and blueberry pies made with fresh fruit from our Farm Market. If you miss out, Salty Lark Pies also takes orders! Here's a link to their website with a list of seasonal made-to-order pies: Salty Lark Pies Website. We tried the Mint Mojito Pie, AMAZING!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Here are a few of our favorite Fourth of July recipes. Including a quick article on the best ways to cut watermelon. Sometimes it can be a little tricky. Links to recipes below pictures.
