Crop Report: Melrose Apples!

October 14, 2021

Thanks for checking in this week! Details on pick-your-own this weekend and a full list of apple varieties and locally grown produce to find in our Farm Market to follow.

The long wait for Melrose apples is finally over! Melrose is now available in our Farm Market. Here's a little info about one of our customer favorites, Melrose.

  • Melrose is our official state apple. Its unique flavor makes it an excellent addition to desserts. Sweet with a hint of spice. Melrose is an excellent apple for eating and baking.

We will be offering u-pick apples again this weekend. U-pick apples will be coming to an end soon. Be sure to check apple picking off your fall bucket list!

U-pick apples this weekend (October 16 & 17):

  • Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm

  • Variety: Goldrush

  • For more details about u-pick at our orchard click HERE

We've had lots of pumpkin pickers this week! Our u-pick pumpkin patch is open seven days a week. The Jack O'Lantern pumpkins have been beautiful this year and there are still so many to choose from. It's so fun to see how unique each pumpkin is!

The harvest of Melrose apples calls for our Family's favorite fall breakfast. We love the flavor Melrose adds to this easy Apple Puffed Pancake. Top with pure Ohio maple syrup and serve with a side of bacon. You won't be disappointed! Link to recipe below.

We are looking forward to chilly evenings around the campfire this weekend. We're excited to try this apple cider cocktail, The Grave Digger. Link to recipe below.
