Crop Report: Fresh Pressed Apple Cider

Thanks for checking in this week! There are still plenty of apple varieties to choose from in our Farm Market. Lot's of great all-purpose varieties that are prefect for pie baking and apple sauce making! Full list of apple varieties available in our Farm Market (as supplies last) to follow.

We are still pressing apple cider weekly and will continue to until we close for the season on December 22nd. Next week we are planning to do a limited release press of Goldrush cider in addition to our usual blend. Just in time for Thanksgiving week! Stay posted!

As the season for some of your favorite early fall apple varieties comes to an end we definitely recommend turning to Goldrush. We can't express enough how excellent these apples are! They're a great addition to pie and sauce as well as a great snack apple.

Goldrush are one of the only apples known to build flavor complexity in storage. Early Goldrush are pretty tart but sweeten up with a little time. Goldrush will stay crisp and delicious for up to 7 months in cool storage.

Winter weather came a little early this year. Brrrr! Warm up this weekend with an Apple Butter Old Fashioned, so good! If you're feeling extra ambitious you can even make your own homemade apple butter! We have Amish made apple butter available in our Farm Market that works just as well! Links to recipes below.

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Caesar Creek Vineyards recently released a pumpkin spice hard cider that was made with our apple cider. Yum! Their tasting room is open Friday & Saturday 2pm to 8pm Sunday 12pm to 4pm.
