Crop Report: Ohio Grown Heirloom Tomatoes
Thanks for checking in this week! We've been enjoying these beautiful Ohio summer days. The cooler mornings and evenings have been a breath of fresh air! Our Farm Market is packed full of locally grown produce, there's something new every week! Full list of produce available to follow.
Amidst all the craziness its been really nice to take a step back and enjoy evenings on the farm. We've been so thankful for the kindness of our customers, we are very happy to be open and able to offer a great selection of local foods to our community.
We are still offering peaches by the 25 pound box and will continue to throughout the season. As Georgia peach season starts to come to an end we will begin to source from Pennsylvania and Northern Ohio. Look for favorites like Red Haven and Contender soon!
Apples are coming along well, we hope to have some early varieties available in the next few weeks. We will keep you updated!
Tomatoes have been excellent this year. A customer favorite is a variety of heirloom, Cherokee Purple. Give these guys a chance and you wont be disappointed! They may not look perfect but their flavor is exceptional.
Effortless summer meals are simply the way to go! They're less fuss on busy days and highlight the flavor of our farm fresh summer favorites. Here's some fresh tomato recipe inspiration from Halfbaked Harvest and Love & Lemons, two of our go-to recipe blogs. Links below.
