Crop Report: Farm to Table Summer Meals
Thanks for checking in! It's been a busy week here at the farm as we prepare for fall. Hard to believe that it's almost apple season! Look for early apple varieties like Zestar and Honeycrisp soon!
All of the produce currently available in our Farm Market is Ohio Grown. The season for locally grown produce is always too short but we love every minute of it! We are lucky to have so many great farmers close by. Fresh produce adds such a positive note to humid Ohio summers. Full list of produce to follow.
Farm fresh produce is the highlight of our summer and our summer meals. Here are some farm to table recipes we love. Link to recipes below pictures.
This season's peach harvest has been excellent. Be sure to freeze up some peaches before it ends. Ohio grown peaches are $35 for a half bushel if you're feeling ambitious. We've already done a few batches ourselves. It's so nice to be able to add peaches to desserts and smoothies during the winter months. Recipe for peach shortbread below pictures.
We are still offering u-pick for Blackberries, Black Raspberries and Red Raspberries. We made a black raspberry jam. It's great on toast in the morning and adds a fun twist to margaritas!
